The Worth Valley Railway
We enjoyed our day at the Worth Valley Railway. We dressed up as book characters.
We are enjoying looking at a map to see the train route.
Later we enjoyed playing in Haworth Park.
We made Gruffolo Crumble using bananas, strawberries and blackberries.
We cut the fruit carefully and laid it in the baking tray.
We crushed biscuits to make the crumble topping and measured out all the ingredients to help bind it together.
We ate the Gruffolo Crumble with ice-cream, it was delicious.
In Reception we have been learning about our five senses. We have put our sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste to the test in a variety of exciting activities.
We tasted a variety of foods and used new vocabulary to describe them.
Bitter? Sweet? Salty? Sour?
We used our sense of smell to guess what was in the bowls. We were surprised at some of our findings!
We made fantastic collages using materials with different textures. We felt them carefully and described them before adding them to our pictures.
The Grand Finale!
To end our Senses topic, we worked together to make a crunchy, fruity Gruffolo Crumble! It was delicious!
Our First Christmas Production
Our first Nativity was a success! We performed the First Christmas in front of a two packed audiences and enjoyed every minute!
We performed many songs and acted out the Nativity play after lots of hard work and practise. We concentrated hard and remembered the words to all the songs. We had been practising our lines at home and in rehearsals and made our teachers and parents very proud with our performances!
